Internship Announcement

Position Title:  Publications Intern

Posted Date:  12/7/10

Reports to:  Emily Shenk, Managing Editor

Compensation:  Unpaid Internship

CWLA is looking for an editorial intern for its publications department. The intern would assist with our magazine Children's Voice, academic journal Child Welfare, and books. In addition to getting hands-on experience across the publications department, the intern will write a 2500-word feature article, which will be published in our magazine. This is a great opportunity for students who already have some communications experience but are looking to have a solid writing piece published. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills are necessary. The ideal candidate will be a junior or senior undergraduate journalism student with an interest in editing. Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style or AP Style, and knowledge of APA style, is a plus. The internship is unpaid, with a possible stipend and a flexible work schedule. We are looking for a spring semester intern, starting in January, but will also accept applications on a rolling basis. To apply, e-mail a resume, cover letter, and two published writing samples to eshenk@cwla.org.
